Hello.  I’m John, co-owner of Nelson-Brown Enterprise for over 20 years.  I believe in giving my clients good quality work on their projects.  That is what established me in this industry this long. Some of the best things my clients has said was Mr. Nelson is a professional man with a professional attitude to details.

My most memorable job was motivating my crew to provide a quality job for a challenging client.  The client was giving us a challenge by constantly commenting on the job.  However with my professional attitude towards client satisfaction, I was able to help my team remain focused and complete the job ahead of time and when my crew saw my professionalism, I was able to help save the momentum of the project.

I have over 20 years in the construction industry with a background focus on interior decorating. My best performance on a project has been working with clients who have an idea that need it to come to life.  This is what I do, focus on what my client needs are and helping them bring it to reality.

My most memorable job was a client interested in a jazzy color scheme (red and purple) for an up and coming clothing store targeted toward the trendy population.  The idea was there however the client was challenged in thinking it could be a reality.  I chose items that coordinated with the colors and was careful in selecting which products would be which color with attention to the lighting in the room. The client was very satisfied and I receive several referrals. I made cover of the Atlanta Tribune Magazine.

I love what I do. I was raised into this industry, construction. It’s funny when clients meet me and say, you’re a contractor, because I look girlie-girlie, not the image of a strong bodied individual.  However, I reply understandably, yes, and I have done all the work involved in construction from hanging sheetrock to climbing on top roofs.  However my expertise for the past 10 years has been on the managing of the projects and working closely with clients. I make sure the project is on schedule, within budget, and the appropriate subs or employees matches the projects.  Some subs/employees are better at a particular trade than others.  I like giving clients as much as a stress free project experience.

My most memorable client was a project we performed for a subdivision committee interested in getting a sign built.  There was so many opinions of what would be a better fit for the neighborhood as well as what the cost should be.  After receiving many calls from each of the members as too needing me to agree with their opinion, I was convinced the best way to resolve the issue, was by bringing everyone together to discuss the issue and reminding everyone the focus was getting a sign, working with a realistic budget and completing the project on time. I am a problem solver and was able to get my clients together, talk calmly, stay focused, start and complete the project. All were satisfied clients. I know my education and training in Business, (Organizational Psychology and Development) is necessary in relating with our clients.

Going on appointments with my parents as I grew up implanted a desire to be a part of this company, which I have for nearly 20 years.  My background grown to becoming college educated in Business and a present pursuit of Drafting and Designing degree.  These trades will increase my ability to service my clients in their construction projects.  Presently I am a Project Manager where I work closely with the clients in working with in a budget and making sure we remain as close to possible to that budget. 

My most memorable client was a smaller project in cost where the client had a small budget to work with.  There was a personal issue which occurred that limited the amount of work originally scheduled.  I was able to propose a different plan, more economical products, exchange the crew, and decrease the work completion to stay with-in the new budget.
